Two Hawaii residents were injured Sept. 26, 2005, when they were involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 97, 13 miles north of Goldendale.
According to the report, Raymond C. Romero, 43, Kapaa, Hawaii, was driving a 1991 Dodge Caravan southbound on SR 97. The vehicle crossed the centerline, left the east side of the roadway down an embankment and struck numerous large trees.
Romero was transported to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale with possible internal and neck and back injuries. It was unknown whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
Passenger Monique F. Matola, 27, Kapaa, Hawaii, suffered neck and lower back injuries. She was also transported to KVH. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Romero was cited for DUI and DWS.
No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Sept. 29, 2005, at 6:08 p.m.
The accident occurred on SR 197, near Murdock.
According to the report, a 1979 Volkswagen van driven by Wesley J. Spino, 49, The Dalles, Ore., was northbound on SR 197, attempting to make a left turn into the Shell gas station. The vehicle turned in front of a southbound 1991 Mazda driven by Randall E. McKinney, 52, Goldendale. The vehicles collided in the southbound lane.
Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Spino was cited for failure to yield.
