"Making Pickles" will be the topic of a hands-on class offered in White Salmon on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cindy Smith, WSU Cooperative Extension food safety advisor, will teach the class sponsored by the WSU Learning Center-Klickitat County.
Participants will come away with knowledge of the safe way to make pickles as well as the food preserved in the class.
"Making Pickles" is one of a series of food safety classes being offered in White Salmon. The next class will be "Freezing & Dehydrating," on Sept. 21. The classes are being held in the home ec room at Columbia High School.
The cost of each class is $5 to cover the publications supplied.
