Parenting announcements coming up

On Saturday, Jan. 12, in White Salmon at the Grace Baptist Church a game night for children with autism will be offered.

This is proving to be a popular offering! A parent-run monthly event that provides teens with High Functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome, and their families, social opportunities in a recreational environment.

For any teen (13-19) on the autism spectrum, their parents and responsible siblings.

Meets first Saturday of each month, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church.

On Jan. 15 in White Salmon, John Evans, program manager with Washington State DVR will be putting on a presentation for business owners, teachers, parents and others to learn about worksite adaptations and accommodations that help people with disabilities overcome barriers to employment.

This will be at the White Salmon Valley Community Library from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m.

The Skamania Klickitat Community Network is sponsoring this, and lunch will be available.

There will be a free Love and Logic parenting program offered in Stevenson on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Stevenson Elementary School. This program is intended for families with children of all ages.

The first Interagency meeting of the year will be in White Salmon at the Pioneer Center beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 14.
