MARGARET FULLER
Margaret (Marge) Helena Fuller died at her home in White Salmon on July 29, 2004. She was 82 years old.
Mrs. Fuller was born in Chicago, Ill., on Nov. 14, 1921, the daughter of Hattie (Schmidt) and Charles Spitzer.
When she was very young, she moved to Shaniko, Ore. There she met Raymond Fuller and the couple married in The Dalles, Ore. in 1940. The couple raised sheep together.
Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and considered her church to be an important part of her life. She loved her harmonica. Mrs. Fuller was a family-oriented woman, strongly committed to those she loved. Her family was committed to her, too, and stayed by her side to the very end.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her daughter, Wilma Denny, White Salmon; son Robert Fuller, White Salmon; sister Lois Myers, Denver, Colo.; brother Bill Hanna, Milwaukie, Ore.; grandsons Jeremy Denny, Camas, and Brandon Denny, Spokane; and soon-to-be-born great grandchild, Sophie, Camas. Preceding Mrs. Fuller in death are sisters Helen and Julia and husband Raymond, who died in July 1992.
A memorial service for Mrs. Fuller will be held at Gardner Funeral Home on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at 6 p.m., with Pastor Dan Kennedy officiating.

BRUNO HUKARI
Family and friends of Bruno Hukari will gather Aug. 7, 2004, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the West Side Fire Hall in Hood River to share memories and experiences of his life.
An informal program will begin at 3. Food will be provided.
Mr. Hukari died on May 30, 2004, three weeks before his 93rd birthday.
BETTY CARTER
Betty Jane (Durham) Carter died on July 22, 2004, in her home in Olympia.
She was the first born of David and Gladys Durham in White Salmon, on May 20, 1936. She attended schools in White Salmon and McMillan, eventually settling in Olympia.
Mrs. Carter loved life. She was the center of a large and loving family. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, William Doc Carter, Olympia; sons Bill Waymire, Olympia, and David Landrum, Carson; daughters Cindy Chandler and Joy Collins, both of Olympia, and daughter Becky Nichols, Selah; her mother Gladys Durham, White Salmon; brothers Robert (Bob) Durham, White Salmon, James (Jim) Durham, Olympia; and sister Marie Moser, Carson. Mrs. Carter was grandma to nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father David (Dave) Durham, sister Evelyn (Ev) Keys, and grandson Darrell Waymire.
Mrs. Carter made friends easily and spent many hours with family and friends doing the things she enjoyed the most such as camping, fishing, gathering mushrooms, digging clams, playing her guitar and singing. The annual family elk hunting trip with husband Doc was always a happy time for her.
For over 25 years she cared for hundreds of children as the owner/operator of Carter Day Care.
Her zest for life and family will be remembered and her spirit will live on in those she has loved, taught, and befriended.
Services to honor Mrs. Carter were held on Friday, July 30, 2004, at the Veterans of Foreign War Lodge at 2902 1/2 Martin Way East in Olympia.

MILDRED MORBY
Mildred May Morby was born to Eugene and Alvina White on April 11, 1915, in McMinnville, Ore. She died on July 26, 2004, in Clackamas, Ore.
Mrs. Morby grew up in the McMinneville area, attending local schools and receiving her teaching certificate at Western Oregon State University.
She taught school at Chenowith Flat in Underwood. This is where she met her future husband Jack "Pete" Morby. They wre married on June 4, 1938, in a small ceremony in Goldendale. The couple was married 59 years until his death on March 1, 1998.
After marriage, Mrs. Morby became a fulltime homemaker and parent, raising five children. She was active on the Mill A School Board and was secretary/treasuer between 1957 and 1966. She was instrumental in the planning of the new Mill A School built in 1960. The Willard Women's Club, where she presided as president for several years, kept her active in the community.
Mrs. Morby is survived by her children Louise Alva Dulong, Janet Marie Hendricks, June Ella Kline, Linda May Bookwalter and Jack Jerald Morby; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters Rosina Barnes and Marietta Wright, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. One daughter, Joanne, preceded her in death.
A memorial for Mrs. Morby was held July 31, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Tri-City Baptist Temple in Gladstone, Ore.
