A memorial graveside service for Kenneth Luvern Krenz will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery. An open house at the Krenz home will follow the ceremony.
Mr. Krenz died at his home in White Salmon on Sept. 22, 2004, at the age of 74. Mr. Krenz was born in White Salmon on Feb. 10, 1930, to Paul and Erna (Foerstenau) Krenz. He married Evelyn Grunke on March 25, 1950. The couple moved to Willits, Calif., in 1955 and lived there for 40 years. Mr. Krenz retired to White Salmon in 1996. He was the owner and operator of a logging truck for many years.
Mr. Krenz liked to tinker with old cars and also played the saxophone and organ.
Mr. Krenz is survived by his wife of 54 years, Evelyn, White Salmon; daughter Marsha Webber, Lake Oswego, Ore.; son Mike Krenz, Covington; brothers Robert Krenz, St. Helens, Ore., and Carroll Krenz, San Jose, Calif.; and three grandchildren. Preceding Mr. Krenz in death were brothers Don and Delbert.
Gardner Funeral Home's Columbia River Crematory handled arrangements.
ARTHUR MARKUSON
Arthur O. Markuson, Long Beach, died on Sept. 21, 2004, at the Hospice Care Center in Long Beach, at the age of 87.
Mr. Markuson was born Aug. 16, 1917, in Joyce, to Olaf O. and Hilma K. (Nyman) Markuson.
Mr. Markuson served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He then worked for the Wind River Nursery in Carson, living in Underwood for over 50 years. He also worked for the Fish and Wildlife in Seattle at the University of Washington. He lived in Long Beach for the past few months.
He was lifetime member of the American Legion and a member of the Ocean Park Moose and the Eagles in Stevenson.
He loved fishing, carpentry, mechanics and hunting.
Mr. Markuson is survived by his wife of 11 years Eva, Long Beach; daughters Bonnie Robinson, Puyullup, and Betty Moerer, Renton; stepdaughter Patricia Clemence, White Salmon; sisters Hazel Gershowitz, Port Angeles; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde Markuson.
Memorial services for Mr. Markuson will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. View Grange in White Salmon.

Arrangements were handled by Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park and Crematory.
