Navy Band Northwest's Contemporary Entertainment Ensemble, Deception Pass, will be performing two free concerts at Columbia High School on Monday, May 2, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Both performances are open to the public and are part of a larger tour that has the band performing in Corbett, The Dalles, Goldendale and Boardman.
The series of concerts and band clinics are being sponsored by Navy Recruiting District Portland to promote Navy awareness in the area.
Deception Pass is a high-energy band with a repertoire of hits spanning the last 50 years that performs throughout the Northwestern United States for a variety of concerts and events.
Under the experienced leadership of Musician Second Class Joel Thiesfeldt, the group is comprised of vocalists, a rhythm section, and a small horn section, the band's repertoire includes rock, funk, soul, rhythm & blues, pop, and jazz, appealing to people of all ages and musical tastes.
