The congregations of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in the Columbia Gorge, will celebrate the 488th anniversary of the beginning of the Protestant Reformation with a special worship service on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3 p.m.
The service, which will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, corner of Oak and Jefferson streets in Bingen, will feature many of the hymns of Martin Luther.
Participants in the service will include Rev. Paul Bundschuh, pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bingen and Grace Lutheran Church in Klickitat; Rev. Jerrold Collins, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hood River; and Rev. John Westhafer, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church in The Dalles.
The choir of Our Savior Lutheran Church will also participate in the service.
"We invite the entire community to join us for this special service," said Rev. Bundschuh.
Following the service, the Lutheran Women's Missionary League group of Our Savior will serve light refreshments.
