Lis Wilson of Corvallis, Ore., set a new course record time of 30 minutes, 54 seconds in winning the sixth annual Big Tree Ski 8-kilometer rcross country race Jan. 27 near Trout Lake.
Close behind Wilson was Alyce Crocker of Husum. Crocker crossed the finish line 8 seconds back of Wilson in the race for the event's best overall time.
The top finisher among the men was Fred Paxson of Trout Lake, who defended his title with a first-place time of 31:17. Robert Schmid of Trout Lake was the runnerup; he finished 1:30 back of Paxson.
All told, 45 racers took advantage of the day's sunny weather and fast track conditions to challenge the classic stride course.

Women 15-and-under:
1, Emily Paxson, 40:33. 2, Anna Schmid, 44:17.
Women 20-29:
1, Stacy Wuster, 49:22. 2, Karissa Pearson, 51:39. 3, Flora Galloway, 1:08.00.

1, Lis Wilson, 30:54. 2, Alyce Crocker, 31:02. 3, Eileen Garvin, 45:00.
Women 40-49:
1, Tamara Shannon, 36:27. 2, Diane Paxson, 42:01. 3, Lesli Schmid, 52:05.
Women 50-59:
1, Katy McKinney, 42:30. 2, Cheryl Mack, 49:19. 3, Ruth Hazen, 54:58.
Men 20-29:
1, Travis Pearson, 38:48. 2, Matt Farmer, 40:34. 3, Nathan Dick, 44:18.
Men 30-39:
1, John Shuman, 39:18. 2, Mike Jacoby, 40:58. 3, Adam Peck, 43:48.
Men 40-49:
1, Fred Paxson, 31:17. 2, Robert Schmid, 32:47. 3, Dave Gunnersen, 49:00.
Men 60-and-over:
1, Monte Pearson, 39:00. 2, Lon Ball, 39:33.
