The Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association's third and final fundraising swap meet of the year takes place this Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the paved lot west of the Hood River Expo Center building on Portway Avenue.
Volunteer organizers and Vel and Bud Budworth say to bring recreational gear such as windsurfing, kayak or kiteboarding equipment, or any gear related to outdoor recreation. Space is on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations.
Sellers may set up as early as 7 a.m. to get the best location and need to remember that if they pack it in, they will need to pack it out. The swap meet is free to buyers; sellers pay $10 for a spot.
CGWA has created its own "sales area" at the swap meet for windsurfing equipment donations. If anyone would like to donate used windsurfing gear to CGWA, please drop it off at Windance in Hood River by Friday or at the swap meet on Sunday by 7 a.m.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the CGWA's access program which includes site maintenance, site improvements and new projects.
