Sweeps of Bickleton and Sunnyside Christian last week vaulted Klickitat into the lead in the Klickitat County Division of the Greater Columbia B League.
The Vandals (4-2) whipped the Knights of Sunnyside Christian, 25-20, 25-11, 25-15, serving 94 percent (68/72) and six aces during the Friday night match.
Sherri Brewer connected on 20-of-21 serves and had five aces to lead the Klickitat effort.
Melissa Huwe and Aryn Davis both served 100 percent, while Deidra Clack was 15 for 16 with an ace.
On the attack, Davis connected for four kills in 25 chances and Erin Draeger posted two kills in 11 attempts. Clack tallied four assists.
Defensively, Clack, Huwe and Trisheena Keys had two saves apiece.
On Sept. 28, the Vandals collected 24 kills in 42 chances in turning back the Bickleton Pirates, 25-8, 25-8, 25-11.
Clack recorded seven kills in eight attacks, and Brewer and Davis both finished with five kills in 22 combined chances. Huwe notched four kills and Draeger added two.
Davis also had three scoring blocks to raise her season and team-leading total to 20.
Other team leaders for the match included Huwe with three saves, Clack with five assists, and Brewer and Clack with two aces apiece.
In other action:
Trout Lake lost a non-league match to Columbia High, 3-1, last Thursday in White Salmon; Glenwood fell to La Salle in three sets and Mabton swept Bickleton.
Sept. 28 results included Glenwood's straight-sets victory over Lyle. On the 27th, Trout Lake scored a five-set, non-league win against Cascade Locks, Ore.
