Trout Lake lost for the first time this season on a goal by Riverside Christian's Garrett Neiffer late in the first half of an Oct. 14 Greater Columbia B League match in Yakima.
The defeat ended a run of nine victories by the Mustangs.
However, they retained their hold on first place going into the last two weeks of the regular season, which concludes on Friday, Oct. 31.
Trout Lake hosts Sunnyside Christian, currently last in GCB standings, in its season final.
This Friday, Trout Lake entertains second-place Moses Lake Christian, then travels to Riverside next Tuesday, Oct. 28, for the rubber match of the season series.
The Mustangs opened league play Sept. 23, edging the Crusaders, 2-1, in a shootout on their home pitch.
Three weeks ago, Trout Lake traveled to Moses Lake and came away with 4-0 and 8-6 wins in a Friday-Saturday double-header. A 6-0 shutout of Sunnyside Christian raised Trout Lake's league record to 4-0 and its overall mark to 9-0.
The Mustangs have one match remaining with both Moses Lake (at home on Friday, Oct. 24) and Sunnyside (there, Friday, Oct. 31).
In non-league play this season, Trout Lake posted a 5-0 record in September. It opened with a 4-1 win over visiting New Horizon Christian of Hood River.
A 6-0 victory over Valley Christian of Spokane and a 3-2 verdict against Northwest Christian of Colbert followed.
The Mustangs closed out their non-league slate with 6-0 and 3-2 triumphs over visiting Snohomish County Christian and Grant Union of John Day, Ore., respectively.
