There will be a traveling farmers' market in the park starting July 2 and every Saturday through September. The Twin Bridges Museum will also be open to the public the same days, from 3 to 5 p.m. The museum has a beautiful quilt (that Ida Roane made and donated as a fund raiser) and will be selling raffle tickets during those hours.
Six Lady Sundowners met for luncheon on Monday, June 13, at the Charburger in Cascade Locks for the monthly get-together with the usual catching up of family news. The regular Sundowners RV Club met at Toll Bridge Park (at the base of Mt. Hood) with eight rigs and 15 members present for their June weekend outing. Two new couples were voted into membership after their requisite of the two monthly visits had been met. Members enjoyed lively games of Bocci Ball and Blitz.

Some history from a booklet titled Columbia Grange 1889-1967: "The officers from 1894 carried over until March 11, 1895 when Brother James Wheelhouse, State Lecturer, came and installed the officers. Brother Ira B. Hewett and P. Eirich took the oath as Master and Secretary. Delegates elected to the Klickitat Business Council, which was held in Columbia Grange Hall, were J. O. Lyle, E.B. Hewett, P. Eirich and I. B. Hewett. There was much discussion as to where to hold State Grange. Some were in favor of having it at the shoe factory in Rockland if meals and lodging could be secured. Rockland was the early name for what is now called Dallesport."
"Some wanted to have it at a hotel in The Dalles. However, the final decision was to have it in Columbia Grange's Hall. Brother and Sister I. B. Hewett were elected delegates. A subscription paper was started to raise funds to buy an organ and a spool of black barb-wire was bought to make a fence around the hall. A lock and two door knobs were also purchased. It was voted to notify all members who are six months in arrears in dues and to suspend all those who failed to respond."
"The State Master and State Lecturer were present for a special meeting on May 9th to instruct the officers and members on work of the order. There was much discussion on the Settlement of Indians on Public Lands and a resolution was drawn up to present to the Klickitat Business Council."
The economy is so bad that: McDonald's is now selling the "Quarter Ouncer."
