Mekong Thai opens on West Cascade
Marnie Douangphoumky and family opened Mekong Thai restaurant, at 1810 Cascade Ave., on Monday.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and dinner nightly.
Mekong is located in the space formerly occupied by Sophie's and Abruzzo.
The Doungphoumky family has operated Mekong Thai in Milwaukie for three years and will offer a similar menu of Thai and Vietnamese dishes.
Columbia Cliff hosts Business After Hours
Columbia Cliff Villas hosts the next Hood River Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event, Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Appetizers will be provided by the White Buffalo Wine Bar and Bistro. Wine will be provided by Naked Winery. There will be a raffle drawing for a free night's stay at Columbia Cliff Villas and a 50/50 drawing.
The villas are at 3880 Westcliff Drive, next to Columbia Gorge Hotel.
HR Distillers signs up Pendleton Whisky market support
Hood River Distillers, the Northwest's oldest and largest importer and producer of distilled spirits, is partnering with French/West/Vaughan for marketing support of Pendleton Whisky, the official spirit of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and one of the fast-growing premium whisky brands in the U.S.
FWV is one of the nation's largest independent public relations, public affairs and brand communications agencies.
"We're excited to work with an agency such as FWV that truly understands the cowboy spirit upon which Pendleton Whisky was founded," said Ronald Dodge, Hood River Distillers president and CEO.

Pendleton Whisky was developed to honor the tradition of the Pendleton Round-Up, one of the most prestigious rodeo events in the world, which celebrated its 100th anniversary last year.
Hood River Chamber has an app for itself
The Hood River County Chamber of Commerce is now providing a mobile app "MyChamberApp" (MCA) to help consumers and visitors find local business locations, area events, and services offered by chamber members.
MCA provides a host of easily accessible maps, locations, phone numbers, websites, images, and even videos to help consumers locate information and resources for Hood River County. The app offers one-touch access for chamber member business websites, phone numbers and GPS location identification.
Available in an easily downloadable form to iPhone, iPod, Android and Blackberry users for free (www.MyChamberApp.com/downloads), MCA can also be found on the chamber's website at www.hoodriver.org.
"Last year during the tourism season, we found that many visitors were asking for easy online accessibility to contact and directional information from our website," commented Kerry Cobb, chamber executive director.
