Bingen chooses new councilor

"I wanted to be involved in the community and work with the community as far as changing Bingen for the good," Fentie said. "The council is on a great roll and I'd like to be part of the process."

Bingen Mayor Brian Prigel praised Fentie.

"I think she'll bring a new perspective," Prigel said. "She'll encourage the council to look at new issues, and she'll bring a new energy to the council."

Fentie was appointed in a 3-1 vote from a field of five prospective candidates on Oct. 15. The other candidates for the position were Scott Hohensee, Roger Watt, Diana Lee-Greene, and Wil Schuemann.

She will be sworn in on Nov. 4.
