Did you know Ezra Pound wore slippers all the time? You may also learn some interesting tidbits about other poets from Dorothy Stafford, special guest, as she talks about her life with Stafford, especially during the time they spent in Washington D.C. when he was Poet Laureate.
Dianne Allen, professor emeritus of history, has a new poem to share with an intriguing title: "Coyote goes to Wal-Mart."
Joan Chantler, a student of Stafford's, will relate a few memories.
An afternoon of open-microphone poetry reading in remembrance of Oregon poet and pacifist Stafford, (1914-1993) will be held at the White Salmon Valley Community Library this Saturday, April 7, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Attendees are invited to bring an original work and/or share one of their favorite Stafford poems, or just come to listen.
Refreshments will be provided.
