The Glenwood Homemakers are pleased to announce that they will offer a Continuing Education Scholarship again this year.
This scholarship is for $500 and is open to anyone (except 2011 graduates) who has been a Glenwood resident for at least two years or whose primary residence is Glenwood, has at least 12 post-secondary credit hours, and will be attending an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or trade school at least half-time this fall.

Jennifer Harter and Jason Dean recited their marriage vows before family and friends with Mt. Adams in the background on July 23. The outdoor wedding was held at Jim and Lonnie Dean's home; and the weather cooperated perfectly for Jason and Jennifer's special day. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jason Dean as they begin their married life.
Jenna and Jaxon Dean were honored at a baby shower on July 24 at the Glenwood Grange. It is always fun to see all of the tiny baby things at showers -- and Jaxon will be all decked out in the many gifts he received.
The Glenwood Rodeo Association hosted a Family Fun Day for riders and their horses on Sunday, July 31. About 40 riders participated in the playday that included barrels, pole bending, keyhole, Figure 8 and bareback dollar bill races. Thank you to everyone who participated and to those who worked to make another fun event at the Glenwood Rodeo Grounds!
The Glenwood Grange would like to remind you that on Friday, Aug. 5, as well as the first Friday of each month, the Grange Hall will open at 9 a.m. to anyone who has a project they would like to work on. Sewing, quilting and craft projects are some of the items people have been working on over the past few months. Participants report it has been fun to help others with projects -- or to get help if needed. If you want to stay through lunchtime, you may bring a sack lunch for yourself or a small serving of finger foods to share with the group. We hope to see you there!
