Haley Blair turned in the top finish for Columbia High runners last Saturday at the Three-Course Challenge in Seaside, Ore.
Blair placed second on the Blue Course to help the CHS girls come in sixth in their division. Rachel Luther finished sixth on the White Course. Both runners receiv-ed medals for their top-10 finishes in their respective courses. (The distance on all three courses was 4,500 met-ers.)
Sidra Matthias had the CHS girls’ top finish on the Red Course, coming in 19th.
Will Nuckoles posted the top finish among CHS boys, placing ninth on the Blue Course.
Colin Howe and Fletcher Andrews placed 11th on the Red and White courses, res-pectively.
The CHS boys ended the day in fifth place in their division. Bruins Coach Jill Cole said a team’s top-two runners on each course accounted for the final team score.
All told, eight CHS runners received medals based on their top-10 course finishes. Moreover, the CHS boys brought home a team award for finishing in their division’s top five.
