In league games on consecutive nights, the South Wasco County Redsides defeated Mitchell-Spray, 65-49, on Monday and then lost to Arlington by a 62-38 final Tuesday in boys varsity hoops play.
Monday, Garrett Olson dominated the inside game with 36 points and 19 rebounds, as the Redsides went out in front, 31-17, at the break and finished on a 34-32 second-half run in their largest offensive output of the season.
Olson scored 17 of his points in the first half and added 10 fourth-quarter points.
Oscar Thomas drilled five 3-pointers to secure his 21-point effort and Tanner Davis notched six points.
SWC (4-5 overall, 1-1 league) rattled off 27 field goals, five 3-pointers, and went 6 of 9 from the line.
Tuesday at Arlington, one bad quarter sealed SWC’s fate in a 62-38 loss.
Wesley Goad hit on 17 points, as the No. 4-ranked Honkers (7-1, 2-0), broke open an 11-all tie through one quarter with a 23-6 second-quarter rally.

On Friday, Jan. 4, SWC hosts No. 7 Sherman (5-1) at 6:30 p.m., and then hits the road to Hood River to take on eighth-ranked Horizon Christian (5-3, 3-0) at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5.
