The Cherry City Crush softball program is coming back strong for the 2014 season and over the next few months the teams will hit the diamond looking to make headway for a chance to improve to the point of earning state supremacy.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 18, the 14U Crush team, coached by Todd Bradford and Lynn Helyer, hosts one game versus Hood River for what could shape up to be a closely contested slugfest.
On Saturday morning at 9 a.m., the team hosts its annual tournament for three games at Sorosis Park in The Dalles.
On the same day, the Crush 12U team with veteran manager Roger Hoylman and assistant Leroy Tharp fields its hard-hitting group for play at Sorosis Park for three games as part of tournament action.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at 16th Street Ballpark, the 12U group plays its rivals Hood River.
Nearly a month later, former state champion baseball player, Ryan LeBreton, has his 10U squad prepared and focused for some top plays for the season.
Their first one-game tournament contest kicks off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 with first pitch slated at 16th Street Ballpark.
Starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, LeBreton’s team will take the field for three tough matchups for an all-day tournament at Sorosis Park.
