Firefighters with the Prineville BLM and the North Sherman County Rural Fire Protection District continue to make progress on the Gordon Butte Fire that ignited on Lower Deschutes River this weekend.

The fire is now 75 percent contained and remains at 3,300 acres. Full containment is still expected Wednesday evening. The historic Harris Ranch is no longer considered threatened. Firefighters will continue to reinforce containment lines and mop up any hotspots that could cause the fire to flare up again. Wind and weather is expected to be favorable for the next several days.
