AOK Home Watch of Hood River, which provides absentee homeowner services, has been named an accredited member of the National Home Watch Association.
Anita Ozols, owner of AOK Home Watch, has over a decade of experience working in vacation rentals, property management, and homeowner associations, and now concentrates on running the Hood River operation.
She has lived in the Hood River area for over 10 years. She attended the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota School of Business, and has been a licensed real estate salesperson in Oregon and Hawaii, as well as licensed in the state of Florida as a community association manager.
With her experience in caring for a wide array of investment properties, Ozols knows what to watch for before things become a problem — she saved an absentee owner hundreds of dollars in heating bills after discovering a wall heater that was constantly running.
That was her “Aha!” moment, and AOK Home Watch was born, according to the NHWA press release.
After witnessing the damage and emergencies that can occur to an unattended home, Ozols realized there was a need in her community for a professional, reliable, accredited company to assist absentee home owners in monitoring the condition of their homes.
The NHWA was formed in 2010 in order to establish and maintain industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada.
When not working, Ozols can be found hiking the trails near her home, paddle boarding in the Columbia River, bicycling rural roads and exploring Mt. Hood.
AOK Home Watch serves Hood River, Wasco, and Multnomah Counties, along with many other communities of the Scenic Columbia River Gorge.
