A caller in the 700 block of East Second reported Tuesday morning a person came to pay a bill and after being in the bathroom a long time, there was a funny smell and the cleaner found possible drug paraphernalia in the trash. Police seized evidence and forwarded report to district attorney.
A caller in the 3100 block of West Seventh reported Tuesday morning a woman kicked in the back gate and pulled a medical marijuana plant out of the ground. She was sprayed with a water hose to get her to stop. The woman was there to remove her belongings after being evicted. Several other calls were made regarding the same woman later in the day, but callers were told she had a right to be on the property and it was a civil matter, not a criminal matter.
A caller in the 600 block of West 11th Street reported Tuesday afternoon someone put flowers on a vehicle in her carport and moved other things around. No sign of break in.
A caller asked for a welfare check on a man at East 13th and Oregon Tuesday afternoon who was holding a sign saying “hospital” on it. The man said he was fine but wanted a ride to his doctor’s appointment because he didn’t really want to walk up the hill.
A caller at 14th and Liberty reported Tuesday afternoon a vehicle ran into a parked vehicle and the airbag deployed. Randy Duane Munsen, 63, The Dalles, was arrested for misdemeanor driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol).
The high school called Tuesday afternoon to ask a law officer to assess a student for possible drugs.
A caller reported Tuesday afternoon a guy was walking near Chenowith elementary in a scary bear mask. The caller stopped to talk to the man but he would not respond. Police looked for the man but were unable to locate him. An officer stayed near the grade school until school was out.
A caller in the 2700 block of West Seventh Street reported a fight. A woman reported a man who assaulted her earlier pushed her onto the bed, hurting her kidney. She agreed to go to the ER to be evaluated.
James Wesley Bayes, 54, The Dalles, was arrested on First Street Tuesday evening and is accused of two counts of failure to appear on a bench warrant.
Darla Rae Green, 52, The Dalles, was arrested in the 1600 block of East 11th Street Tuesday evening on two bench warrants for failure to appear.
A woman reported early Wednesday she was assaulted and robbed at the boat basin. Report taken.
A caller in the 500 block of West 12th Street reported early Wednesday someone was turning the knob on her back door and the dog started barking and scared the person off. Police checked the area and could find no one.
Wasco County
On Tuesday afternoon, deputies responded to a report of a suicidal subject in the 1300 block of Third Avenue in Mosier. Deputies made contact with 18-year-old man who said he had thought of hurting himself in the past but was no longer feeling that way. The man made appointment with counselor.
A caller reported a domestic disturbance in the 3800 block of W. 10th Street on Tuesday afternoon.
An abandoned black Ford automobile with California plates was reported near the intersection of Highway 26 and the 43 forest road on Tuesday afternoon. Deputies reported the vehicle was believed to have been involved in a high speed chase a few days earlier.
On Tuesday afternoon, a raft was seen floating down the river with no one in it below the Lone Pine Development Area. Deputy could not locate raft or anyone in the water before nightfall. Search was forwarded to the marine patrol to see if they could locate raft.
Deputy stopped a vehicle near Fifth Street and Union on Tuesday evening due to defective license plate light. Driver was found to have a driving while suspended violation and had an active warrant from The Dalles Municipal Court.
Jesus Alfredo Gudino, 21, of The Dalles, was arrested Tuesday evening near the intersection of Fifth and Union and accused of failure to appear.
Sherman County
Karl Evan Schwartz, 26, of Portland, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 200 block of Webber Street and accused of DUII-alcohol/misdemeanor.
Regional Jail
Luciano Hernandez Cruz, 38, of The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday morning and accused of probation violation.
Roger Eugene Eakins, 31, of Selah, Wash., was arrested Wednesday morning and accused of probation violation.
Walter Frederick Sexton, 42, of The Dalles, was arrested Wednesday morning and accused of probation violation.
Justin Daniel Wardle, 32, of Portland, was arrested Wednesday morning and accused of failure to appear in the first degree.
Scott Erlin Henderson, 32, of Portland, was arrested Wednesday morning and accused of probation violation.
