The Dalles — While home baking and similar expressions of gratitude are on the no-no list, firefighters working the Government Flats Fire Complex could use some toiletries and other items that may be running low at base camp.

Kim Nosenzo, a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church, has learned from fire officials that items including socks, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, chapstick and foot powder would be welcome contributions to their efforts.
