A trail work party will be held this Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. meeting at the Binns Hill Staging Area. The Hosta Timber Sale will start this fall and will affect trails around Binns Hill Staging Area. The sale will affect parts of 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, and 180. A long section of trail 160 that heads north from the staging area will be decommissioned by sale activity. A replacement section has been laid out, is now under construction, and lies outside of the timber sale boundary. It is hoped that this section of 160 can be opened for use prior to the start of timber sale operations. The objective of the work party is to complete finishing work on recently cut new trail and possibly build new trail to the north. Tools will be provided, but feel to bring your own. Bring food, water, work gloves, sunscreen, and protective clothing. For more information, contact work party leader Jordan Rhinevault at 971-340-5596.
