HOOD RIVER — The Hood River Valley (HRV) baseball team beat Parkrose High School twice on April 14 and 16, and Rex Putnam High School on April 17, as the Eagles have now won seven straight games. HRV outscored opponents 25-2 from April 14–17 at Traner Field.
HRV began the week against the Parkrose Broncos (0-12). The Eagles scored in each of the first three innings, building an early lead and never allowing Parkrose to settle in. HRV totaled 13 hits in the game, with multiple players contributing at the plate. Senior Bodie Stuben and sophomore Elliott Dillingham held Parkrose to two hits in the 10-0 shutout.
Two days later, HRV gave an even more dominant performance against the same team, defeating Parkrose, 10-0, again. The Eagles scored in four of five innings and controlled the game from the start. On the mound, senior Trevor Jacobs recorded a no-hitter while racking up 11 strikeouts.
Hood River Valley closed the week on April 17 at home against the Rex Putnam Kingsmen (4-7). The Eagles jumped out to a fast start, scoring four runs in the first inning to take control early. Putnam scored twice in the sixth inning, but HRV held on behind a strong pitching performance from sophomore Landen Pratt and sophomore Tyson Harjo. The Eagles finished with five hits as a team.
Across the three games, Hood River Valley combined for 24 hits while its pitching staff allowed just five hits total, consistently controlling opposing lineups.
Next up, HRV travels to Putnam High School for another matchup with the Kingsmen at 4:30 p.m. on April 21. Then, the Eagles return home to face the OSAA Class 6A McNary High School Celtics (7-8) at 5 p.m. on April 22 in Hood River.
