The Columbia High Bruins girls basketball team is proving a contender in the WIAA Class 1A Trico League, after winning two games last week to move into third place in the six-team league.

The HRV girls basketball team headed into league play with an 8-6 record, but after dropping their first two games of league, they’re now 8-8 and .500 on the season for the first time since they were 2-2 in early December.

The No. 1 ranked Horizon Christian boys basketball team moved one step closer toward its goal of winning the 1A state championship with an impressive 52-21 second-round state playoff win over Triangle Lake Friday at Horizon Christian High School.
