HRV Softball headed into its play-in game matchup with the 11-16 Wilsonville Wildcats on a four-game losing streak, but the Eagles looked nothing like its 7-8 record to end the regular season, and instead more like the team that won 13-straight games to open the season.

Seventh innings have not been HRV softball’s strongest as of late.
Before the HRV softball team hosted a double header against Pendleton this past weekend, the Eagles were at home against Hermiston for the third of four meetings between the two schools this season.
It would take 13 games for the HRV softball team to get its first taste of a loss this season.
What’s a win? Non-league conference opponents had no answer to that question when matched up against HRV softball this season.
A perfect 10-0 start to the season for HRV softball was in jeopardy early on at home versus Clackamas, a top-10 team in the state at 5A, on Monday, April 2.
“This is an incredible team,” said head softball coach Eric Keller. “Right now, we are playing well in all facets of the game. Specifically, we are leaning on the strong pitching staff and the production at the plate.”
The race for the Columbia River Conference title is far from over, but at least one thing is now for certain: the HRV softball team has at least earned a play-in game at the conclusion of the regular season.
Last year’s HRV softball team had an incredibly young roster, boasting just one senior and two juniors, and while this year’s squad only has four players from the class of 2017, the juniors and sophomores on the team are older, wiser, and ready to build on last year’s efforts.

TD’s win, coupled by Hermiston’s 12-2 loss Friday to Pendleton, gave the Riverhawks second place in league and a home state play-in matchup at home next Friday against St. Helens.
