Cascade Locks Planning Commission will consider an ordinance regulating short-term rentals (STRs) and accessory dwelling units at a meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9 at City Hall, 140 WaNaPa St.
A new, four-page newsletter has been introduced by the city of The Dalles. The initial publication, which is titled “The City of The Dalles/State of the City,” features brief biographies of the new faces in The Dalles City Hall, including Police Chief Patrick Ashmore, Human Resources Director Daniel Hunter, City Manager Julie Krueger, Planning Director Steve Harris, and City Clerk Izetta Grossman. The first issue came out on Oct. 7.
Every Thread Counts — ETC to locals — celebrated its one-year anniversary May 1 under the new ownership of mother-daughter team Tammie and Kaitlin Eckert. The business will celebrate at its new location in the old Wine Sellers space, 514 State St., on June 17. The Eckerts — Tammie and husband Joe, son Max and Kaitlin — are originally from the East Coast, moving from Sandy Hook, Conn., to Mosier in 2011.
