Caleb Berthelsen, candidate for judge of the 7th Judicial District of the Oregon Circuit Court, position 4, pled guilty to a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) 10 years ago in North Dakota.
To the editor: I have known and worked with Steve Kramer for the past seven years. First, during his tenure as manager of Mel’s Sanitary Service, and following that, during his past four years in the Wasco County Commissioner’s office.
To the editor: You made a ghastly mistake in placing the dark black “Sex Abuser...’ headline above the picture of the honorable young man ( Fritz) who is battling Tourette’s syndrome, in your July 22 2015 issue. At first glance especially when the paper is folded, it looks like he is the perpetrator. What a thoughtless and inconsiderate layout.
Dear Mary: We recently read a short article you wrote on common money mistakes to avoid. One of the mistakes was “Paying for college.” Unfortunately, this article came about three years too late.
To the editor: I returned from Iraq in 2005 damaged and between jobs. The Portland VA hospital was my first experience with the VA. I received superb medical and emotional care from people who cared. They treated me with respect. They counseled me when I was suicidal and traumatized. They gave me glasses when I needed that. They gave me medications and hospitalization when I needed them. They treated me better than my civilian medical people.
