Hood River Valley recognized its senior players before Friday’s home game against Parkrose and then the Eagles capped off their homecoming week with a dominating, 56-7, win over the Broncos.

In the Eagles first game of the season, they handled business against the Hillsboro Spartans, but their week two match up featured a team ranked in the top-10 of the state according to OregonLive. The Scappose Indians are coached by Sean McNabb and his son, Luke handles quarterback responsibilities. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, the senior quarterback McNabb is an intimidating figure. This week in practice the Eagles emphasized controlling the Indians ground attack.
Gorge Youth Tackle Football League action wrapped up last weekend with the league championship tournament in Goldendale. The league consists of two age groups with teams from throughout the Gorge. In the 3rd-4th grade league, the championship game came down to two Hood River teams fighting for the title after beating teams from The Dalles, White Salmon, Stevenson and Goldendale.
