WASHINGTON — FEMA announced that federal emergency aid has been made available for the state of Oregon to supplement state, tribes and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic beginning on Jan. 20, 2020 and continuing, according to a news release from FEMA.

Multiple Klickitat County fire departments and districts have submitted a joint application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to obtain a grant that would supply firefighters with new equipment.

Wasco and Hood River county emergency management organizations will host applicant briefings on FEMA reimbursement for the Government Flats Fire Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Only state, county and local government agencies are eligible.
