What would it be like to be a bear, a fox, a raccoon, or an eagle? Kids ages 5 to 9 years old can explore “Animal Habitats of the Gorge” during a day camp Aug. 1-4, 9 a.m. to noon at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, 5000 Discovery Drive. Children will get to choose a favorite wild animal, then learn about each animal’s habitat.

What would it be like to be a bear, a fox, a raccoon, or an eagle? Kids ages 5 to 9 years old can explore “Animal Habitats of the Gorge” Aug. 1 through Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Columbia Gorge Discovery Center, 5000 Discovery Drive, The Dalles.

Columbia Gorge Discovery Center is joining hundreds of cultural institutions across the country on Saturday, March 12 for the Smithsonian Institution’s “Museum Day Live!” This is a nationwide campaign to reach women and girls in underserved communities and provides an opportunity to the public throughout the U.S. to enjoy and share in our nation’s dynamic heritage and cultural life.

National FFA week is Feb. 15-22 this year and the Hood River Valley FFA Chapter has several activities planned at the local level. The first activity in the community is the “Pass The Pig” fundraiser, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17 beginning at 9 a.m.
