Saturday’s Original Courthouse Regional History Forum presentation has been changed. Dave Wilson, who was scheduled to present a program about the Japanese community at the Mayerdale Estate, has cancelled and his presentation has not yet been rescheduled.

Oath time Jan. 5

Wasco County Circuit Judge Janet Stauffer will administer oaths of office for recently re-elected Commissioners Rod Runyon, Position 3 and Scott Hege, Position 1, at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, in Courtroom 301 of the county courthouse, 511 Washington Street. Also taking the oath will be County Assessor Jill F. Amery and the public is invited to the ceremonies.

In October 2012, the first-ever Reconnect to the River Festival was sponsored by The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce. The event was to celebrate the completion of the new city dock and the arrival of cruise ships to The Dalles.
