Letter to the Editor: Feel good bill

This “feel good” legislation originating with Portland students and introduced by Portland Democrats will do nothing to prevent people bent on violence from committing violence. Limiting ammunition purchases to 20 rounds per month is ridiculous. Sport shooters could never tolerate such a restriction. Magazine limit of 5 rounds would outlaw most revolvers and any tubular magazine rifles. Your “old Winchester 94 “ would not be legal under this restriction.

This is nothing but an attempt to end run the Second Amendment by restricting firearms and ammunition.
