To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andy Nichols and his team Rachel, Britney, Fred and Charlene for the beautiful blown glass Christmas tree (Darcy’s Tree) that they donated to the Festival of Trees. They started working on it in May.
The stand was built by AAA Metal Fabrication and it was a perfect match for the tree.
This was paid forward by Dr. Keith Stelzer, Dr. Bill Hamelton and Duane Francis, who purchased the tree for $7,600 and donated it to the Celilo Center. What a wonderful thing to do!
It’s great to live in such a caring community. The Christmas spirit is truly alive.
P.S. If you have never been to Andy’s shop (912 West 6th St.), it’s awesome. You, your child or grandchild can blow your own ornament. What a great Christmas tradition to start.
