What’s happening

Oct. 7 & Oct. 11 — It’s A Wonderful Life Live Radio Play, 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30-4 p.m. Saturday at the Bingen Theater, 210 Oak. St., Bingen. Big Britches production. Open ages 7 and up. Sept. 25 — Maryhill Museum & Stonehenge Memorial, departing at 9:30 a.m. at the Hood River Valley Adult Center; returning 3:30 p.m. Cost, including admission, $62 members and $72 non-members; lunch on your own at on-site café. RSVP at the center or 541-386-2060; space is limited.

Sept. 27 — Rotary Peace Pole Dedication, 1 p.m. at the History Museum of Hood River County, 300 E. Port Marina Way, Hood River. Free admission; see new exhibit “Sadako & Paper Cranes” following presentation.

Sept. 27 — Mt. Hood Town Hall Fall Fundraiser Kickoff, 7-8:30 p.m. at the town hall. Performance of “Heroines” by Balladir led by Travis Puntarelli. All events are free to attend, with donations encouraged. Contributions can also be made anytime at mthoodtownhall.org.

Oct. 2 — White Salmon Valley Community Library Community Reads Author Talk and Reception, 6:30 p.m. at the library gallery, 77 NE Wauna Ave. Free. Author Noé Álvarez; talk to the author, take in work of local artists inspired by “Accordion Eulogies,” learn about history of the accordion and join discussion of the book.

Oct. 4 — CASA Fall Family Run, 9 a.m. at the Mark O. Hatfield West Trailhead, Hood River. 5K and a 1-mile run/walk. Registration free for youth under 18, awards to fastest male and female 5K runners. For event details or to register, visit gorgecasa.org.

Oct. 9 — White Salmon Valley Community Library Community Reads Event, 6:30 p.m. at the library gallery, 77 NE Wauna Ave. Free. “History and Culture of the Accordion.” Musician and accordion expert Bobbie Ferrero will demonstrate three types of accordions: acoustic, electronic and buttonbox.
