THE DALLES — Three The Dalles High wrestlers finished fifth, and three more were sixth at the Bank of Eastern Oregon Boys Invite tournament Jan. 31 at Heppner.
The tourney attracted some of the top boys wrestling programs fat smaller schools in Oregon. The Dalles finished in tenth place with 64.5 points among 18 teams. Culver, the Class 2A/1A defending state team champion, won the tourney, and Burns, the Class 3A defending state champion, was second (190-188.5).
The Dalles was led by fifth-place finishers Adrian Miramontes (285 pounds), Jesus Chavez (165), and Quinn Brenner (175). Danner Varland (106), Eoin Herman (285), and Harley Scott (138) placed sixth.
Scott was in a stacked bracket at 138 pounds and finished with three wins. His first loss was to Bridger Fosmark, the third-place finisher in Class 2A/1A in 2025 at 132 pounds. He won his next two matches before losing to 2025 state tourney wrestler Tyler Hoel of McLoughlin.
