The following are crimes which resulted in arrests: Failure to report (one).
Notable incidents
Four non-injury vehicle crashes. An eastbound black Tesla left its lane of I-84 near milepost 96, struck the median and bounced out of the road. The driver and only occupant said they were changing the music, and inadvertently steered the vehicle; they were warned for distracted driving. Separately, a citizen reported a debris field on Historic Highway 30, indicated a past crash. The trooper found a white Ford in private property. Its damage was consistent with swiping a rock wall, and had been anonymously reported as a potential DUII. The trooper contacted the driver, gave them information and a crash report form. In a third incident, a westbound white Volvo semi-truck and trailer changed lanes in I-84 and struck a white Promaster, pushing it into the guardrail. The occupants of the Promaster, which needed a tow, reported the Volvo speeding and driving in both lanes before the crash. The Volvo’s driver got three citations. Fourthly, an eastbound Toyota Tacoma’s driver saw two deer about to cross Highway 30/Old Moody Road in front of them and honked to scare the deer. Instead, the deer rushed in front of the truck, which hit both. The truck was damaged, but drivable; the state of the deer was not logged.
Several people reported a commercial truck and flatbed trailer of recycle materials spewing garbage on I-84. A trooper found the truck and confirmed it was leaking in the wind, especially at higher speeds. The driver had recently returned to work and claimed someone else had miss-wrapped the load. They were cited and released for offensive littering.
A trooper watching the 10th and Washington intersection contacted a person who appeared lost and confused, and had dried blood on their face and coming from their ear. The trooper escorted them to the hospital for treatment, later learning their parking break had failed and the person’s motorhome rolled over them and drug them a short distance.
