Charges — Aug. 24-30, Hood River police charged people with driving suspended (one), false info (two), harassment (two), interfering (one), mischief (one), offensive littering (one), restraining order violation (one), theft (two), warrant (three), weapons (one). Last week, Oregon State police charged people with driving suspended (one), DUII (two), fail to report as sex offender (one), false info (one), fugitive from other state (one), warrant (three). Wasco and The Dalles don’t log arrested but recorded eight warrant-related incidents.
Firearms — On Aug. 28, officers responded to a call of an adult male who entered Columbia Gorge Hotel armed with two guns, and arrested one person.
Hood River thefts — Four, last week: shoplifting at Walmart, theft at an auto parts store and at The Spit. A person was arrested at Safeway Aug. 24 on charges of theft III, offensive littering, criminal mischief III and aggravated harassment.
Statistics — In Hood River Aug. 24-30, officers made a child neglect report and two domestic violence reports. Wasco County added two logs of domestic violence, two of assault. The Dalles made four logs of sex crimes, seven of domestic violence and two of assault.
Crashes — Hood River reported two non-injury crashes, a collision and parked vehicle being hit, Aug. 24-30. Last week, The Dalles police logged six crashes on W. Second, Bret Clodfelter, W. Sixth, E. Ninth, Cherry Heights and Oregon Avenue. Wasco County added another six on Tygh Grade, Dufur Valley, two on Highway 197, and Sportsman’s Park.
Deaths — Hood River reported an unattended death at Pacific Northwest Federal Credit Union on Aug. 28. Wasco County logged deaths on Pleasant Ridge/Dolan Roads on Aug. 29, and an assist call from W. 11th Street that ended in death on Sept. 2.
Warrants — In Hood River on Aug. 29, a suspicious vehicle was stopped leaving a local charity drop-off and two occupants arrested on warrants. Separately, an officer arrested a “absconded” houseless person for a warrant out of Clackamas County.
Mental health calls — Eight in The Dalles, three more in Wasco County.
DUIIS — The Dalles recorded five on Long Pine, W. Sixth (twice), Cherry Heights and Mt. Hood.
Critters — The Dalles logged 18 animals, at least 13 of them dogs. Wasco County added five animals.
Wasco thefts — The Dalles police logged twelve possible thefts on W. Sixth (eight), Lone Pine, E. 19th, and E. Second (two); plus an ID theft report. Wasco County logged three on Ross/Wamic Market, Chenowith Creek, and Washington Street; plus a stolen vehicle from W. Sixth and a fraud logged.
Missing — A welfare check on W. Eighth on Sept. 1 became a missing person report. An elderly person had walked from their home, and was located. Wasco County logged a missing person from Muddy Road.
Burglaries — Sept. 3, burglary logged on E. Ninth at 3:06 a.m. by The Dalles police. Wasco County deputies logged a burglary on Highway 30 on Aug. 29.
Marine — A marine call on Chicken Charlie Island, in the Columbia, on Sept. 1.
Drugs — incident on Sept. 2, location not logged. Drug incident on Webber Street on Sept. 4.
