WISHRAM — Six years ago, Dawn Beauchamp, AmeriCorps alumni and Wishram School little free librarian, worked with Columbia Gorge News Circulation Manager Tanya Lindsey to secure an old newspaper box to turn into a Free Little Library.
When that box fell into disrepair, Beauchamp reached out to Chelsea Marr, CGN publisher/owner, in hopes of securing a new one. Marr met with Beauchamp at the newspapers office in The Dalles, and she selected a plastic box.
“We have a lot of these news boxes we no longer use,” Marr said, encouraging members of the community to contact her should they also need one. “They make wonderful Little Free Libraries,” she added.
Those wishing to pick up a news box can contact Marr at chelseam@gorgenews.com or 541-386-1234 ext. 100 (leave a message).
