Former mayor honored

BINGEN — The City of Bingen will honor former Mayor Charles B. Long following his passing on Dec. 1. Current Mayor Catherine Kiewit formally honored his memory in a Mayoral Proclamation (online at columbiagorgenews.com).

Long served as Bingen’s mayor from 1982-1997. According to Kiewit, he “played a pivotal role in shaping the growth and progress of Bingen. The proclamation further noted that he “exemplified the ideals of public service through fostering initiatives that strengthened the city’s infrastructure, supported local businesses, and enhanced the quality of life for its residents.”
