THE DALLES — During the June 4 Community Affairs meeting, Lori Treichel, lead home visiting nurse for North Central Public Health District (NCPHD), discussed the district’s home visiting programs, including Babies First, Cocoon, and Shared Care Planning (Spock), which collectively served 90 clients in fiscal year 2025. Treichel additionally highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary teams in providing comprehensive care.

NCPHD also reported receiving a $424,000 grant to expand services, aiming to hire another nurse and offer support to all families with babies in Wasco and Sherman counties.
