THE DALLES — Police responded to a person in crisis on The Dalles Bridge on May 19. The person was threatening to jump, Oregon State Police reported.

Officers were eventually able to pull the person to safety and take them to a hospital for mental health evaluation. The bridge closed for about four hours while law enforcement negotiated with the person.
