Students, families, and school staff across Hood River County will celebrate Earth Day by riding together in “Bike Buses” to school on the morning of Tuesday, April 22. These group rides follow planned routes (see map) and create a fun, safe, and visible way for kids to get to school while building community and reducing car trips. Multiple routes will be active throughout Hood River, Odell, Parkdale, and Cascade Locks, with riders joining along the way and rolling into school together. Drivers, please take note: expect groups of students biking on streets during the morning commute. Use extra caution, slow down, and be patient — these rides are supervised and designed to keep kids safe while encouraging healthy, active transportation. Community members are encouraged to cheer riders on!
