THE DALLES — North Central Public Health District is holding its first ever coat drive to help support the Mid-Columbia Community Action Council.
Donations of coats for men and women in all sizes (no child coats please) can be dropped off at the NCPHD office, located at 419 E. Seventh St. in The Dalles.
Coats must be new or gently used and washed, and in good condition.
Donations of new, clean adult socks are also needed.
The coat drive kicked off Nov. 28 and will conclude Jan. 31.
NCPHD is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed from noon to 1 p.m. each day.
Anyone is interested in hosting a dropbox for coats at their place of business or a similar location can contact Gloria Alvarez at gloriaa@ncphd.org or at 541-506-2699.
NCPHD has previously held a blanket drive each January, but is doing a coat drive this year instead.
