Looks like we might have yet another reality star in political office. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has revealed he’s putting his reality career on pause while he focuses on Archangels Centers — the addiction recovery facilities he co-founded — and he has ambitions to become governor of New Jersey.
“I’d like to save lives for the next three to five years with Archangel Centers. I’d like to have an Archangel Center in every [of the] 50 states,” he told News 12 New Jersey at a party for VUE Magazine’s spring edition, in which he and wife Lauren are the cover story. “And after that, I’ll introduce to everybody Governor Situation.”
When asked whether he’d run as a Democrat or a Republican, Sorrentino sucked his teeth and pivoted. “I can’t announce it yet, but I think the residents of New Jersey would like no property tax,” he said.

And as he considers future careers, Sorrentino said he and his wife “like to be on the path of self-improvement … mentally, physically, spiritually, personally, and professionally,” he told News 12 New Jersey. “Any negativity we like to get rid of, and that is a lifelong journey that we love to be on.”
Sorrentino opened the first Archangel Centers location in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, last fall, after a decade of his own sobriety. A second location will open soon in nearby East Windsor, according to NJBIZ. The organization plans on adding five locations over the next year, including one opening this July in Matthews, North Carolina, and additional facilities in Florida and Nevada.
“The first few months growing Archangel Centers’ first location have been incredibly rewarding for me because this mission comes from lived experience,” Sorrentino told NJBIZ. “Turning my own struggles into something that can help other people reclaim their lives has been one of the proudest moments of my journey.”
