The 2025 Country Music Awards are sure to be a can’t-miss event!
One year after making her hosting debut alongside Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, Lainey Wilson will hit the 59th Annual CMA Awards as both the show’s host and as a musical performer.
“I grew up watching the CMA Awards like it was the Super Bowl, so to be hosting for a second year is a true honor,” the singer shared in a September press release statement. “I’m humbled that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can’t wait to love on this genre that has given me so much.”
In addition to hosting, Wilson finds herself tied for the most nominations this year, including a nod for the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award. This year’s nominees include more of country music’s biggest stars, including Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, and Little Big Town. Vince Gill, meanwhile, will receive this year’s 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.

The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, November 19, at 8/7c.

Who is nominated for the 2025 CMAs?
Wilson’s competition for Entertainer of the Year includes Combs, Wallen, Stapleton, and Cody Johnson. Wilson is also tied with Ella Langley and Megan Moroney for the most nominations of the year with a total of six. The women are nominated together in categories including Female Vocalist of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year.
Wilson’s album Whirlwind is also up for Album of the Year, along with Moroney’s Am I Okay?, Zach Top’s Cold Beer & Country Music, Post Malone‘s F-1 Trillion, and Wallen’s I’m The Problem.
Wilson, Moroney, Langley, Lambert, and Ballerini make up this year’s Female Vocalist of the Year category, while Combs, Johnson, Wallen, Top, and Stapleton are all up for Male Vocalist of the Year.

In addition to hosting, Wilson will also take to the CMAs stage during the awards show. The ceremony’s full lineup of performers also includes Combs, Langley, Moroney, Top, Ballerini, Stapleton, Tucker Wetmore, Kenny Chesney, Brandi Carlile, Riley Green, Patty Loveless, Old Dominion, The Red Clay Straws, Stephen Wilson Jr., Keith Urban, and Little Big Town.
Wilson Jr. also will team up with Shaboozey for a special performance, while BigXthaPlug and Combs will perform their own on-air collab. Lambert will also perform during the show with Stapleton.

While Wilson leads the main awards show, fans can simultaneously tune in to CMA Awards Backstage Live, hosted by singer Lauren Alaina and social media star HaleyyBaylee, on CMA’s official TikTok account. “CMA will go live multiple times on TikTok starting at the red carpet and wrapping up after the last trophy is handed out, featuring interviews with artists and celebrities, real-time reactions from winners, and all the action that happens on Country Music’s Biggest Night,” a press release shares.

Who is receiving the 2025 CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award?
Gill will receive this year’s CMAs Lifetime Achievement Awards. Throughout his career, Gill has released 20 albums, sold over 30 million records, had 45 charting singles, and won 22 Grammys. He is also known for playing in iconic bands such as the Eagles, the Pure Prairie League, The Cherry Bombs, and The Time Jumpers.
“Vince embodies the very best of what Country Music stands for,” Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer, said in a press release statement. “He’s a true trailblazer, one who gives back to the community, honors the roots of our genre, and even now, continues to share his talent with fans across the globe. As a Country Music Hall of Fame member, 18-time CMA Award winner, and former 12-time CMA Awards host, he remains a vibrant force in our industry, and we’re honored to celebrate an artist whose influence is so deeply woven into the fabric of our format.”
Past recipients of the CMA Lifetime Achievement Award include Nelson (2012), Kenny Rogers (2013), Johnny Cash (2015), Dolly Parton (2016), Kris Kristofferson (2019), Charley Pride (2020), Loretta Lynn (2021), Alan Jackson (2022), and George Strait (2024).
