Hood River County is seeking a Seasonal Equipment Mechanic. This position is seasonal with an anticipated start of December 2025 and end of August 2026. Responsibilities will include regular repair and maintenance of county machinery, equipment, fleet and law enforcement vehicles; procuring parts and supplies; surplusing vehicles; and assisting with winter road maintenance operations as required. Applicants must possess mechanical aptitude and skill for repair and maintenance of both automotive and construction equipment. A high level of trouble-shooting skills required. Some computer knowledge of standard Microsoft Office programs is necessary. Possession of a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is preferred but not required. If candidates possess a CDL, plowing snow and transporting county vehicles will be included in the position responsibilities. Applicants may submit a completed Hood River County employment application to the County Administration office at 601 State Street, Hood River, OR 97031, or via email to hr@hoodrivercounty.gov by 4:00 p.m. Friday, November 14, 2025.
