Jasmine Roth had a traumatic Sunday (May 31) after her toddler daughter, Darla, suffered an accident at home that resulted in a visit to the hospital and seven stitches in her head.
The HGTV star shared the experience with her Instagram followers, including gory photos of her daughter with a nasty gash above her eyebrow. Roth and her husband, Brett, share two children, 20-month-old Darla and six-year-old Hazel, with a third on the way.
“Today was a rough one. Darla had her first ER visit (our first since having kids) and it was a LOT,” Roth wrote on her Instagram Story. “She fell off the couch and hit the coffee table just right so she had a 1/2″ indentation where her eyebrow was supposed to be.”
The HELP! I Wrecked My House host said she was home alone with the girls when the accident happened. She rushed to the hospital, and her husband met them there.

“Darla is ok, but it took 7 stitches to close her back up,” Roth shared. “She was such a trooper. I’m going to put our coffee table in storage until the kids are in college.”
In one particularly gruesome photo of Darla’s wound, Roth wrote, “You guys, I’ve never seen anything like this. I was so scared for her. Hazel was screaming because she was scared too but we had to act fast. Poor baby cried but was so brave.”

She also shared some words of wisdom for all the parents out there, stating, “Just a reminder that being a parent isn’t about all the pressure we put on ourselves to make everything perfect. It’s about keeping them as safe as possible and being there for them when something goes wrong.”
Roth described the day as “traumatic,” but said after the sedation wore off “it was almost like it didn’t happen for [Darla].” She added, “Feeling lucky it wasn’t worse and we were able to take her home to rest and play. Sending love to all the parents who are having tough times right now. You aren’t alone.”
She also gave a shout-out to her mom for dropping everything to pick up Hazel from the hospital while she and Brett stayed with Darla.
In a follow-up post, Roth, who announced her third pregnancy last month, said before the accident, she was using her iPhone and her earbuds to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. “I knew I was probably too early so wasn’t super concerned when I couldn’t find a heartbeat,” she explained.
However, while at the ER, she asked the doctor to listen to put her mind at ease. “They weren’t able to find it either, which again wasn’t a major concern because that’s not their specialty,” Roth added.
Once Darla was back home and settled, Roth said she took herself to the OB Emergency in Salt Lake just to be sure. “They immediately found a heartbeat and even did a quick ultrasound to show the baby basically doing gymnastics and I couldn’t feel a thing,” she shared.
