HRV to compete at state ski championships

Racing begins March 6 with the girls giant slalom and boys slalom. The boys girls slalom and girls slalom are March 7. Summit High of Bend is the defending state champion in both boys and girls divisions.

HRV’s boys team roster at state includes: Lars Welch, Beckett Eaton, Davis Pruder, Jess Aubert and Jaden Johnson, and substitutes Wyatt Stewart (giant slalom) and Damian Hochhalter (slalom). Trout Lake High’s Rowan Shuman will also compete in the boys races, and The Dalles Kaiya Doty will compete in girls giant slalom.

The Eagle girls team roster for state includes: Emily Teets, Zoe Mortensen, Eliott Walsh, Arlie Sparling and Kailee Klindt, and substitutes Makena Beckett (giant slalom) and Josslyn Denny (slalom).

The Hood River girls have won seven state titles, the most recent coming in 2019. The Hood River boys have five state titles to their credit, including their latest in 2010.
